When It Is Time to Let Go
It is definitely hard to say good bye to people, but some people tend to be very attached to their belongings, especially if those belongings hold a sentimental value to them. I am sure that you know what I am talking about here: that old necklace your grandmother gave you before she passed away, or that beloved toy your child used to play as a baby. Letting go off those precious items would be like erasing a dear memory or an important chapter in your life. On the other hand, doing so can be very liberating. Even if you are not ready to give your belongings to a charity, at least try some storage units near me to see those items more and more rarely and hopefully eventually get rid of them for good.
It is always good time to let go off things. For example, you might love a specific toy your child used to play as a baby, but if this child is not 18 years old having such items in your house might actually do more harm than good. Maybe you secretly treat your child like they are a baby instead of acknowledging that they are grown ups now?
Being able to move on can be very liberating and it can open many new chapters in your life. Don’t worry, you don’t have to do anything drastic here: some baby steps will do as well. If you are worried that you are going to be missing something very much then at least consider hiring a storage unit for now and then see how things go from there. In the worst case, you can always return to that particular item later on. Alternatively, you might discover that you no longer miss it and that you are ready to move on with your life. Doing so can open some completely new chapters in your life, so it is definitely something worth considering.
