Australia is the smallest continent in the world located far away from the United States and Europe. However, each year many North Americans as well as Europeans decide to travel to this exotic location. Before you decide to visit Australia, keep in mind a few things:

You will need to get used to celebrating Christmas in the middle of the summer if you decide to spend some time in Australia.
-Australia is an exotic destination. You will come across animals that are exclusive to this continent only. Beware of traveling in Australia on your own. You might encounter dangerous places where traveling is not recommended.
-Even though Australia is such an exotic destination, people living there are not that much different from North Americans or Europeans. The official language is English. The Australian population consists mainly of British descendants with some people coming from nearby South-East Asian countries.
-Be prepared for a long trip to Australia. It might take you even up to 20 hours to travel to this part of the world. If you plan a 14-day vacation in Australia, traveling there and coming back might take you even up to four days. Remember also about the time change.
